"Saignon is a wonderful village and we really enjoyed staying in Solièra Cottage.  Joanna is a great hostess and the house had everyone we needed.  The Lubéron Valley has plenty to do and before we arrived we had planned our itinerary thanks to the Solièra Cottage website which answered all our questions  - it's a real plus!  We couldn't have asked for a better house and the views were amazing.  We'll definitely book next year."

"We spent November 2003 at Solièra Cottage in Saignon which is an excellent base from which to explore all Provence has to offer. If you've read 'A Year in Provence' by Peter Mayle you will not be disappointed! The village of Saignon is amazing and although in the heart of Provence it is not as touristy as some of the other villages. The house is charming and we so enjoyed being surrounded by the wonderful antique furniture, many pieces from the 16th and 17th centuries. We were met on arrival at the house and were greeted with a basket of goodies and bottles of local wine - what a treat!"

"Solièra Cottage was just amazing and Provence is everything we expected and more. The farmhouse kitchen has everything we needed and we so enjoyed getting the delicious bread and croissants in the morning and enjoying them in the garden. Thank you so much."

"We spent three weeks in Provence last summer and spent two of the weeks at Solièra Cottage. Saignon is an amazing village and is one of the ten oldest villages in France. The village is perched on a rock and from the garden at Solièra Cottage we had great views of the magnificent valleys and hills. The master bedroom is in the old 'cave' and has a vaulted ceiling and huge French doors which open out on to the garden."

"What a delightful house Joanna has! We are a family of 6 and have just had a great 2 week holiday here. We thought that summer would be very hot, but Saignon being high up has been beautifully cool for us and our 4 children. Saignon has a variety of restaurants (we ate in nearly all of them!), a bakery/cake shop, a village shop and several art galleries. Four kilometres down the hill is the town of Apt which has an excellent Saturday morning market. We don't want to leave and are already planning our next holiday at Solièra Cottage. Thank you."

"We are ex-pats who retired to Portugal and normally holiday in Tuscany, so Provence was new for us.  We spent all our time travelling around the Lubéron and beyond -  but a week was simply not long enough.  We have eaten and drunk to excess and enjoyed walking it off.  The Verdon Gorge was staggeringly beautiful and perhaps the highlight of our stay.  We will be back!"

"Out of the six months I spent exploring France - and spending the children's inheritance - my month in Provence, in general and Saignon, in particular, are what will stick in my mind when I return to the Coramandle Peninsula.  Despite my French being rubbish, I made many friends and loved all the fêtes, the restaurants and the wine tasting (drinking!)  Rural France is truly charming"
